28 Things…
…I copied this idea from Caroline’s blog: What’s Happening At My House. Basically I have to list 28 things that I want to achieve/accomplish in 2011 (my 28th year).
It has taken me a good few days to compile this list. We haven’t been on top form here after the stress & rushing around after Christmas and we have both come down with horrid colds. My head constantly feels like it is going to explode and painkillers and decongestants can’t touch the pain. Ouch. So, needless to say we have been taking it easy and neglecting all the housework & unpacking that needs done. I have also had to neglect all my blog reading as I can’t look at the computer for long at a time! Hopefully we’ll be back to our healthy selves soon! Poor Chester is dying for a big walk in Delamere Forest
!
So, on with my 28 Things List:
1. Eat well – more fruit & veg and less chocolate!
2. Keep up the exercise (shouldn’t be hard with 2 puppies!)
3. Go to the theatre to see either a play, musical or ballet.
4. Have a massage.
5. Have a facial.
6. Do some volunteer work for a local animal charity.
7. Start the process of getting my teeth straightened.
8. Increase my income.
9. Knit a scarf.
10. Learn how to sew (properly!).
11. Try to be more tolerant.
12. Try to be a happier person.
13. Bake more.
14. Get the ball rolling on either a house extension or a new house.
15. Learn to use our camera properly.
16. Re-design my blog.
17. Blog more frequently.
18. Start a Totally Bike blog.
19. Have a holiday in a lovely cottage in The Lake District.
20. Love more.
21. Be more “present” and stop sressing about the past/future.
22. Cancel my gym membership that I never use!
23. Plan & save for our skiing holiday in Jan 2012.
24. Learn how to decorate cakes/biscuits to a good standard.
25. Go on a cupcake course.
26. Win the lottery!
27. Visit more restaurants & try new foods.
28. Keep a “Happy Diary” of 1 or 2 things that make me smile every day!
There! Hopefully I will be able to achieve most, if not all of them. I will let you know how I get on.
Have any of you made any goals for 2011 or any New Year’s Resolutions? xx

That's a great list. Especially the last one! It's very easy to get lost in the everyday stresses of life, but finding pleasure in the simplest of things like enjoying the feel of sunshine on your face, can make you feel great!

Yes to that!

Excellent list. I especially like the one about winning the lottery!
I've seen a few people talking about this idea of writing down things that make them smile – maybe I should try it, I'm sure something must make me laugh each day, I'm fairly easily amused!
Definitely cancel the gym membership if you're not using it as well and then you'll have acheived number 8 and sort of increased your income!

Certainly looks like a challenging list – good luck with it. You might wish to look at "The Happiness Project" by Gretchin Rubin, a really good read. When do you get Holly home?

I love your list, am now trying to write one myself! I want to go on some kind of baking/cooking course too! I've been looking for some in the area, really want to improve (or maybe that should be start!) my decoration skills. I'm also always scouring around for new restaurants to try (we should compare notes on that actually since we may be able to help each other out there!). Ha I also always mean to learn how to use the camera properly but I never get around to it! Look forward to hearing how you get on with your list
