On Sunday (was it Sunday?? I’m so very confused with the days…) Sarah aka Tilly Mint Boutique and I headed to Manchester to attend the Affordable Vintage Fair. These are held all over the country, so there is bound to be one near you.
The fair was held in a big warehouse type place. The bottom floor was freeezing lol.. and we got told off by some woman for trying clothes on in the toilet, even though that’s where you were meant to go to try things on! So what do you do when you’re cold and have been told off by a random woman? Yes, eat cake and drink tea..
I had a slice of the chocolate cake to the top left of the pic – it had marshmallow frosting which didn’t taste very marshmallow-y but was still nice! Sarah had some victoria sponge cake.
Thankfully upstairs was much warmer and there were sooo many rails of clothes to look through! The prices overall weren’t that affordable, I saw loads of lovely dresses but didn’t want to pay £25 plus for each one! At one stand, they were giving away a free cupcake with every purchase which was a nice touch. Sarah bought a skirt from them so of course I ate the free cupcake..
The last stand we visited was the best – fab prices and lovely stock. I could have bought 2 or 3 things. In the end I bought a lovely dress which I wore for Halloween and will show you all in a post later this week.
Oh, I also saw these (Cookies in a jar) and thought they were a fab idea. Sarah knew all about them but I had never heard of them before (obviously I’m not very cultured!).
So a good day was had by all! The next Manchester fair is on Sunday 20th November in the city centre, we will definitely be back!
Check out Sarah’s post about what she bought at the fair.
PS – I also bought a 1960′s black and red swirly disco dress for the bargain sum of £5. However, I have tidied it away in a drawer somewhere and couldn’t be bothered going to find it haha!

Ooh I love the Affordable Vintage Fair – not been to one in ages so very much looking forward to the Xmas one on the 20th! Jen x
love your blog about Judy's was gutted I couldn't be there.. I also love the dress you found for your halloween party
Its fab and such a bargain.. They tend to reduce the prices at the end of the day, that's what I found when I went to one in Liverpool. Got a fab dress reduced from £25 to £15
Worth a try.. Hope to see you at the next one.

This looks like so much fun. I love vintage fairs!
Ooh I've seen a few cookies in a jar before but not as many as that – yum! x
This looks amazing, I’ll definitely be seeing if there is one near me, especially if there is cake involved lol! Looking forward to seeing your purchases
I’m now off to check out what Sarah bought.
