Christmas Cookie Chaos!
I’ve been having a bad day today! I decided it was about time I got round to making my Christmas cookies. The first batch of cookies I made got burnt as my mobile phone fell in the mop bucket and I was rushing about trying to dry it out! It looks like my lovely, new, shiny Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro is ruined. And no, of course I don’t have it insured. Bah
I really could cry.
The next lot of cookies were OK. But I had a bit of an icing disaster. I followed a recipe using egg whites, which didn’t turn out at all and I wasted a whole load of icing sugar trying to correct it! I finally just settled for using icing sugar and water… should have done that in the first place!
We bought a new piping set yesterday in Lakeland but I discovered that I was pretty rubbish at piping. Especially because some of my icings were too runny and I had run out of icing sugar to thicken them up lol.. Gary did the best decorations (of course) and I resorted to messing about like a 3 year old. Ah well, I had fun anyway when I knew the pressure was off and I didn’t have to create masterpieces!
So here are our Christmas cookies – not very elegantly iced but mighty tasty! And yes, the gingerbread man on the right is topless. He was hot, OK?!
Jinx the cat was hanging around the kitchen when we were icing so I decided to make him his own little cookie!
